Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic tells the story of a band of heroes, or potential villains depending on your choices, in stopping the advances of the dark sith lord, Malak, and his army of Sith. As your custom-created character, you will recruit the likes of the Jedi Bastilla, republic hero Carth, meat-bag tenderizer HK-47, and others during your travels around the galaxy. Each character will react either positively or negatively as to how your character handles conversations with strangers, dealing with enemies, and important events that will shape the future of the free Republic. Over the course of your galactic quest, you will be treated to twists & turns, and THAT reveal the remains of one of the most shocking surprises in all of video games, even to this day.

Using a modified version of the 3rd Edition Dungeon & Dragon ruleset, the general gameplay remains a solid good time, albeit a bit cumbersome if you aren't used to these style of games. It can be odd to see a blaster bolt fire at the floor when trying to shoot an enemy or wild swings that are easily sidestepped. I know that when I first tried playing the game on Xbox so many years ago, it baffled me too, but now that I have spent a lot more time getting into tabletop roleplaying games, the systems and mechanics make a lot more sense. For new players experiencing this game for the first time, just go in knowing that this is not an action RPG and that the experience is much more akin to a turn-based affair. Aspyr, the same studio behind the Switch ports of a bunch of other Star Wars titles and the upcoming remake, took the reins for this KOTOR port as well. The new offerings here are scant with the only real update coming from the textures appearing on models having a higher resolution. During my time with the port, there were the occasional odd graphical hiccups where a character I was speaking with was strangely cloaked by wonky shadows nearby, but that was the extent of the problems. Loading times were fast, the game was smooth, and it was a genuinely great experience on the Nintendo handheld. For people who find accurate gameplay time to be important though, it should be noted that the game clock will keep on ticking when the Nintendo is in its resting state.
Second Star Map: Tatooine
Every single issue that this title had, is still prominently featured. There are issues with swuad commands, there are issues with walls, there are issues with being able to have the AI move when you are in a corner, there are just a huge abundance of issues. A lot remains to be fixed in this port. However that is what it is, a port of the original title. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic leaves a lot to be desired. There are issues and glitches in gameplay, there are issues in walking, there are issues at every turn. However, this is an old title, it doesn't pretend to be a remaster, nor a remake. It is simply a port of the original 2003 release, and it really shows. The game truly brings some heart to the Star Wars universe, unlike Disney, but it hits home where no one would think. Coming in at $14.99, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic on Switch is an easy recommendation. While certainly showing its age in the gameplay and visual department, the fantastic story, characters, and lore found within have stood the test of time and remain some of the best that the old Expanded Universe had to offer. Even in this age of NFTs, Dogecoin, season passes, and games-as-a-service, Knights of the Old Republic remains a WRPG classic that Switch owners should run out and experience. May the force be with you. The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic franchise has a lot of going for it. The defacto canon story, the interest in what happens between the Mandalorian wars and the actual films, and overall Star Wars goodness. However, the game has not aged so well over time, although the writing and the game itself has. What is most notable here, is the difference between a Remaster, a Remake, or just a simple port. This is not anything but a simple port.
Third Star Map: Kashyyyk
Bioware's claim to fame is their character interaction. This completely stands out in this game. Your first squadmate, Carth distrusts you from the very beginning, and it details the running of one of the greatest stories of Star Wars lore to date. The characters have true depth, and it carries the story, while you are trying to figure a way off of a very unknown world called Taris, you run into a vagabond crew of people who dislike both the Sith and the Republic. Simply put, you are thrown into an interaction between the hard right and the hard left of the Star Wars world. That is the beauty of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic universe, the allowance of the player to basically bastardize the universe, or be a shining light, however it is a rail based game. BioWare is known for their depth and details on whether the player would like to explore storylines. You are basically forced into these, you can ignore them, but Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is still going to remind you they are there. The best thing about Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is the astounding writing, even Carth comes around, Mission's story is met with a climax, Zalbaar doesn't get his teeth brushed, and the execution follows well. The story is what a masterclass was before a storyline could be considered as such, and it stands. Without spoiling the amazing narrative, that is the title's strongest point. The writing stands the test of time, a canonical Star Wars story that the player can control? Sign me up. However, back to the first paragraph, this is a simple port. When the player becomes a Jedi, the narrative is almost at its conclusion, which is a tease for the second title… not included in this purchase. Daemon X Machina Switch

Step by step guide

- First you will need YUZU Emulator. Download it. Open it in WinRar, 7ZIP idk and then move the contents in a folder and open the yuzu.exe.
- There click Emulation -> Configure -> System -> Profile Then press on Add and make a new profile, then close yuzu
- Inside of yuzu click File -> Open yuzu folder. This will open the yuzu configuration folder inside of explorer.
- Create a folder called "keys" and copy the key you got from here and paste it in the folder.
- For settings open yuzu up Emulation -> Configure -> Graphics, Select OpenGL and set it to Vulkan or OpenGL. (Vulkan seems to be a bit bad atm) Then go to Controls and press Single Player and set it to custom
- Then Press Configure and set Player 1 to Pro Controller if you have a controller/keyboard and to Joycons if Joycons. Press Configure and press the exact buttons on your controller After you're done press Okay and continue to the next step.
- Download any ROM you want from Romslab. After you got your File (can be .xci or .nsp) create a folder somewhere on your PC and in that folder create another folder for your game.
- After that double-click into yuzu and select the folder you put your game folder in.
- Lastly double click on the game and enjoy it.
NOTE: Some games may not run in Yuzu emulator, therefore you may use Ryujinx.
How to add DLC or Updates
Download the update of your game or DLCs, usually as a .nsp. Put it in your folder of the game, then open yuzu. Do exactly as in there as show in the gif
